If we love God as we claim to it won't be difficult to be obedient to Him. This is something I just recently learned, He tells us to avoid certain situations and actions for our own good. He loves us and He wants us to willingly love Him in return. The analogy I often use is the parent/child relationship. As a preteen I didn't obey my parents because I felt that they were telling me NO because they didn't want me to have fun. Well after I improved my "Love Relationship" with my parents and really got to know them; I realized that they were telling me NO because they loved me so much that they couldn't bear to see me make mistakes that weren't good for me. They just wanted to protect my heart. And once I realized that, I became obedient to them because I then understood that they had my best interest in mind. That's the same way I view my "Love Relationship" with God. He has sight far beyond what I could ever imagine therefore he knows what is in my best interest. For me knowing that He loves me that much, I want to show him gratitude by loving Him back through my obedience to His will. :-)
