Triumph Youth Ministries exist to: (Mission)
• Reach all Youth in Friendship grades 6th through 12th,
• Evangelize Youth in our Community,
• Actively Encourage Youth to Honor God with their Lives and grow in their faith,
• Connect Youth with other Christians, and
• Help Youth to discover their spiritual gift(s) and place of service in the body of Christ!
Vision:

We seek to ensure that each youth we come in contact with is assured of their salvation, begins the process of sanctification, and from this basis begins to serve God in various areas of ministry!
What Triumph has to offer
Here at Friendship we have a very active ministry to and with those young people in the sixth grade through high school graduation. The main focus of this ministry is to support our youth by providing events and ministry for young people. We do not seek to compete with the latest media technology to keep a youth’s interest; instead we rely on the Holy Spirit to change lives. We offer, as a church, alternatives, activities, and several programs, but the truth of the matter is the “world’s” offerings are extremely attractive to youth. However, there is one thing that TV, Rap Videos, R&B, Myspace.com and any other tempting vices cannot give: genuine connections that are based on real love. We offer real, true, genuine love relationships!
We believe youth are tomorrow's church and today's church. It is not uncommon to see youth actively participating in our ministry through music, drama, dance, you name it. Our 2007 goal is to have every adult ministry have a youth component so that youth feel more welcomed and a part of the church! We believe today's youth can be impacted positively with the message of Christ. We regularly baptize youth and children who are in a growing relationship with Christ.
Weekly Schedule of Events:
Sunday School: This time of Bible Study will help to grow youth spiritually and is important to their life. Sunday School is held Every Sunday at 10:15 a.m. We offer classes for all grades. Come grow with us!
Youth Service: Held every Sunday except 4th Sunday which is Youth Sunday around here at Friendship, this very untraditional and radical approach to God and Worship allows Youth to Worship God in their own way and to experience the joy of Christian fellowship and Bible Study. This Bible Study allows youth to discuss themes and topic at in a contemporary manner but with sure Biblical Foundation. We meet at the Carrington Building in Room 217 at 12 noon! See you there!
Voices of Triumph Choir: This vibrant teenage choir loves to lift the name of Jesus, and is motivated to give God the glory! They sing every 4th Sunday and rehearse on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. New members are always welcome!
Youth Ministry Programs:
Saturday Academy -STEPPING INTO EXCELLENCE
The Stepping In to Excellence Program is designed to fulfill the vision of Friendship Baptist Church to assist in the educational process for students who are college bound. This program will supplement the academic curriculum students receive at school. The program is designed to provide a foundation of skills, knowledge and strategies to prepare children intellectually, socially and emotionally for optimal academic success. We provide an environment where students can excel academically to become academically competitive during the college enrollment process. Saturday Academy is held one Saturday per month.
The Youth Council:
The Youth Council is a core group of youth dedicated to the youth ministry to help provide leadership and direction for the youth department. This core group of youth assist with the coordination of youth activities acting as liaisons to the youth department at large.
The Youth Council is designed after the Disciples Model used by our Lord Jesus Christ. It allows the Director of Youth to actively work with a core group of youth leaders; teaching leadership skills, promoting spiritual development, and challenging personal excellence in all areas. With this model, Youth Council members are trained to go make disciples of their peers and to be examples of godly leadership, remembering that they are still growing in the Lord as well. Passion & Purity:
Passion & Purity is a 16 week Bible Study series designed to take a hard look at the issue related to sexual purity and sexual integrity! While this is our 5th year offering this course, this year promises to be fresh and inviting. Yeah, we are flipping the script on sex and purity! Come find out what it’s all about! Parents we have a part for you to play too! Currently going strong every Tuesday at 7:30pm! See you there!
Youth Retreat/Conference:
Youth Retreat is an annual event held in the early spring, which designed for youth in the 6th thru 12th grades. It is a time to gather with other Youth who desire to build a quality relationship with God and who are experiencing similar challenges, circumstances, struggles and situations. It’s a chance to just be REAL! This years Youth Retreat will be held at Forest Home Retreat & Conference Center, April 13th through the 15th! Plan now to be there! The cost is $80 for members and $150 for non-members.
Tutoring Program:
Free tutoring is available Wednesdays in the Carrington Building from 6pm to 9pm. Please contact Rev. Kenneth Curry for more details. Looking for a place to serve within the church? If you are a high school student, college student, or adult looking for a place to serve, the Tutoring Ministry would love to welcome you as a tutor.
Scholarship Ministry:
This ministry exists to encourage students academically and reward them for their academic progress as well as their involvement within the ministry of Friendship Baptist Church. In order to participate in the FBC Higher Learning Scholarship and Excellence Ministry, all participants must be active members of Friendship, regularly attending worship on Sundays and regularly attending Sunday School and/or Bible Study as well as participating in at least one ministry.
